OUR STORY
Michael Shults & Scott McDarby have been working together doing hardwood floors for many years. We carry on a family tradition in the wood flooring industry. We learned how important it was to follow the rules, don’t rush the job, and to treat the floor like it was in our own home. Scott McDarby headed west to college and started his own business to pay his way through school. He was successful and worked for many contractors in new construction and remodels. I joined him a couple of years later and we continued to work together.

Michael Shults got his degree in Business Finance. As we each became successful and progressed in our respective fields, we realized that the thing most important to us, our families, received the least amount of our time. With our families in mind, it didn’t take long to want to get back into the Hardwood Flooring trade. However, during that time, we each kept our fingers in the Hardwood Flooring trade by doing side jobs. I started Selecta Flooring LLC in Montville, NJ. Montville was growing a lot and the business did very well. We worked for contractors in Montville and surrounding areas. After that, we officially started Selecta Flooring LLC of Montville. Michael Shults moved down by himself and within six months had more work than he could handle. I moved down the following spring and sold my business in Montville to a cousin. It is important for us to keep our family tradition strong and to have a good reputation. We love what we do and strive for satisfied homeowners in every job.
