What Customers say about Selecta Flooring?

At Selecta Flooring we know how important it is to have eco-friendly wood floors. Hardwood floors have contributed to the deforestation of some of our planet’s most beautiful places. Now there is a way we can counteract this by using wood that is naturally abundant and regrows quickly, as well as reclaimed flooring. The use of finishes that are not only friendly on the environment, but also safe for use around your children and pets is a main component of eco-friendly wood floors. Hardwood floor installation is no longer a detriment to the environment; with the right woods and finishes, hardwood flooring can be just as eco-friendly as any other kind of flooring. We at Selecta Flooring provide wood floors Union County can be proud of, both aesthetically and environmentally.

Reclaimed flooring can come from a number of different sources. Most often our reclaimed wood comes from other flooring projects such as restoration projects, older homes and estates, or homes that have replaced the existing wood floors with a different type of flooring. Anywhere hardwood flooring is no longer being used can be a viable source for reclaimed flooring. Opting for reclaimed wood floors over new wood floors, enables us to recycle beautiful wood, instead of introducing new wood into the market. Like any other wood, reclaimed wood can be sanded and sealed to bring out the natural character of the wood, or stained to match any style and décor.

Bamboo flooring is much more eco-friendly than most other kinds of wood. The plants themselves are extremely sustainable. Unlike trees that can take decades to grow large enough to produce planks for hardwood floors, bamboo can grow at a rate of 98 inches in 24 hours. When bamboo is cut down to make floors, the regrowth stage of a bamboo forest is significantly truncated when compared to oak or cherry trees, making it an excellent choice for use in hardwood flooring.

Besides mimicking much more expensive flooring and being extremely durable, eucalyptus is extremely renewable. Like bamboo, eucalyptus grows quickly; from seedling to harvest, most Eucalyptus trees only need 14 years to grow up to 120 feet. Eucalyptus is also much denser and more difficult to damage than other kinds of wood, making it an ideal choice for high traffic areas and for those who want something long-lasting and eco-friendly.

Rubio Monocoat Oil is composed primarily of natural products and does not contain volatile organic components (VOCs), or formaldehyde emitting finishes. Rubio Monocoat Oil bonds with the wood on a molecular level, creating a durable and long-lasting finish on your hardwood floors. Because of the durability of Rubio Monocoat Oil, if your floor becomes scratched or damaged, you won’t need to replace the entire floor, simply sand the disrupted area and reapply oil. Selecta Flooring is one of the first and few flooring companies to offer Rubio Monocoat Oil as a wood flooring finish.
